KRS 189.285 Regulations for Operating and Riding on Motorcycles

(3) The following persons shall be required to wear protective headgear, in the manner prescribed by the secretary of the Transportation Cabinet, at all times the motorcycles they are riding are in motion on a public highway:

 

      (a)  A person under the age of twenty-one (21) years who is operating a motorcycle or who is a passenger on a   motorcycle or in a sidecar attachment;

      (b)  A person who possesses a motorcycle instruction permit and who is operating a motorcycle;

      (c)  A person who has held a valid motorcycle operator's license, or combination motor vehicle-motorcycle operator's  license, for less than one (1) year and who is operating a motorcycle.

Property is released only to the legal owner of the property or their designee and by appointment only.  If property is being held as evidence in a criminal case, it will not be released without a court order from either the Grayson District Court or Grayson Circuit Court, depending on which court is handling the case.  After you make an appointment with Detective Sergeant Ian Renfrow or Officer DJ Newton, bring a copy of the court order along with a valid photo I.D. to the Leitchfield Police Department to obtain your property.

fingerprinting

 

Background Checks & Fingerprinting


The Leitchfield Police Department provides a fingerprinting service for the public.  Fingerprinting is required by some employers as part of a background check prior to employment.  You can pick up a fingerprint card from your employer and bring it to the Leitchfield Police Department.  The Leitchfield Police Department does not provide fingerprint cards.  There will be a $5.00 administrative charge for each set of prints.

Expired Medication Drop Off

 

The Leitchfield Police Department has a permanent drop off location for unused or expired medications.  The drop off location is located in the lobby of the police department which is accessible 24/7.
